Start a War by Elle Thorpe is our reverse harem romance novel of the month for April! I was so excited to start this series, knowing that the star of the show would be a character from the previous Saint View trilogy we read—Vincent. Vincent’s split personality was so thrilling in the last series, going from unsuspecting prison student to threatening knife enthusiast in mere seconds once the prison riot began. When he effectively saved everyone in the riot, broke out of prison, and killed the villain of the story, I knew he was more than a side character—he was a star.

In this first installment of Saint View PsychosStart a War, we meet Vincent again. He is back to being the upstanding Vincent we first came to love, with his split persona, Scythe, tucked safely away out of sight. He is determined to turn over a new leaf and lands a job at a daycare to brush up on his paternal skills as he sets out to find a life partner and start a family with his new lease on life. As he falls for his coworker and begins slyly stalking her, all those intentions begin to go sideways.

Bliss, the main character of this story and the object of Vincent’s attraction, is absorbed in the mystery of her brother’s death and inheriting his sex club/dive bar that she either doesn’t notice the red flags around Vincent, or more likely, she welcomes the security his ever-present watchful eye offers her. Even with two other men investing their time into being near her, it is Vincent with whom we spend the most time and see her relying on for support.

I loved seeing Bliss grow closer with her brother’s best friend, the older man who co-runs the bar with her, Nash. The spicy scenes we get of her with War, the biker gang leader, are adventurous and hardcore. Overall, this is a reverse harem, and we know each storyline will progress until she has each man wrapped around her finger. I’m most excited to see how the slow burn with Vincent will pay off and if she will end up in a relationship with him or his darker alter ego—Scythe.

I can’t wait to read volume two, Half the Battle, next month! I hope you will continue to read along with us for Book Club. Podcasts drop on the 5th, 15th, and 25th and are available everywhere, as well as in a video version on YouTube! Make sure to go add to the discussion forum topic for this novel! Until next time, remember, sometimes the delusion is the solution!

Yours in Deep Delusion,
Courtney
